My photography on display at the Coffee Emorium

This week started off with six of my black & white photography pieces on display at the Coffee Emporium (located in the Armstrong Building) in downtown Cedar Rapids.

Of course, everything is for sale. But, to be perfectly honest, I’m not too hip on getting rid of anything. I like my art and I like it hung around my apartment. But, if you so choose, pick one out. It’s cool.

Personally, I call my work “Architectural Abstract”, but many of you will notice that it’s mostly pix of downtown Cedar Rapids and Iowa City. Many of my friends have known of my propensity to spend large amounts of time shooting and developing my own B&W photography. Although I do NOT own an expensive digital SLR, I’ve spent much of the last 8 years working my manual Canon Ftb SLR (circa 1971).

Accountant Splenger says, "Invest in Tuna."

Spent evening chasing long furry thing. Been catching it in the corner of my eye for weeks and tonight’s the night…that thing is going DOWN! Dang…that thing is quick.

Mr. Tall has been working his finances. Informed him to invest in tuna. Yummy!

RRT Elektra Poster

Since Chris Hanel has stepped-down from the MAJOR role he played in the creation of Riff Raff Theater, I have taken over as the “Poster Guy” and have been having a rather fun time putting this all together.

On September 11 (it’s a Friday), Riff Raff Theater will be mocking the quite rotten movie: Elektra. Let me know what you think of the poster. Hopefully, I have placed “All that is Riff Raff Theater” into this thing. Let me know what you think.

Dr. House

Lately, I have been rather busy with LIFE stuff…and we all know how THAT goes.

Over the past few weeks, my eyes have been rather puffy and I haven’t been able to get a decent nights rest in over 6 months. So, last week I took a few days off from work and met with my Family Practioner. Following the exam, made an appointment to get some blood-work done the next day. In the mean-time, I was prescribed a rather powerful sleep-agent, Trazadone, and a Prednizone variety for the puffyness around the eyes.

Of course, I found the Trazadone to be rather effective. But, when I met with my family doctor the following week, the steroids did little to reduce the swelling around my eyes. Fortunately, the blood-work indicated that my 40-ish body was doing rather well. My cholesterol is good and my liver and kidney functions are doing fine as well. So, why the swelling? Lord only knows. My doctor made an appointment with an opthemologist next week, so hopely this all may only be allergies. In the meantime, my doctor gave me a sample of an antihistemine eye-drop that I’m supposed to take once-a-day.

Hopefully, we’ll get this all figured out.

Canon Ftb Manual SLR

On September 24th, and lasting 6 weeks, the Black & White photography that I’ve had hanging around my apartment will be on display at The Coffee Emporium in the Armstrong Building.

Many of my friends have known of my propensity to spend large amounts of time shooting and developing my own B&W photography. Although I do NOT own an expensive digital SLR, I’ve spent much of the last 8 years working my manual Canon Ftb SLR (circa 1971). Many of the B&W photos on this website will be available to view, although I will be pricing many of them WAY above most of my acquaintance’s financial threshold. I’m simply not in the mood to SELL anything. Cool?

Chris Martin of Coldplay

Shortly after it was announced that the Well Fargo Arena in Des Moines was hosting Coldplay on June 12, 2009… I purchased tickets on the first level balcony. Although I thought that the stage was to be right in front of me, I was just as jazzed with the seating when I realized they would be on the opposite side of the arena…cuz’…the seats were great.
